Warm-up

Talk about these questions with your teacher.
선생님과 이야기해 보세요.

  1. Amy Smith's resume lists "Areas of Expertise" such as Strategic Planning and Sales Management. If you were writing your own resume, what three areas of expertise would you include?
Amy Smith의 이력서에는 전략 기획, 영업 관리 같은 '전문 분야'가 적혀 있습니다. 본인의 이력서를 쓴다면 어떤 세 가지 전문 분야를 넣겠습니까?
  2. In this sample resume, each achievement starts with a strong action verb like "Managed," "Led," or "Developed." Why do you think using these kinds of verbs is important in a resume?
이 이력서 예시에서는 각 성과가 "Managed," "Led," "Developed" 같은 강한 동사로 시작합니다. 이력서에서 이런 동사를 사용하는 것이 왜 중요하다고 생각하나요?

Korean Trap! / 한국인 실수 교정

Common mistakes Korean speakers make.
한국인이 자주 하는 실수를 알아봅시다.

❌ I took charge of the re-branding project. (re-branding 프로젝트를 담당했습니다.)
✅ I managed the re-branding of a distinct product group.

한국어 이력서에서는 "담당했습니다"라는 표현을 많이 쓰지만, 영문 이력서에서는 "took charge of"보다 "managed," "led," "oversaw"처럼 구체적이고 강한 동사(action verb)를 사용해야 합니다. "Took charge of"는 구어체에 가깝고, 전문적인 이력서에서는 성과 중심의 동사가 훨씬 더 인상적입니다.
