If you come late because of misdirections or other reasons, apologize quickly just keep it to your self. You can say, ” I am very sorry about being late. I should have anticipated more of the delay during rush hour. I if I have cause inconvenience for you, I am ready for a new date and I promise to come on time.”

한국어로 '차가 너무 많았다'를 직역하면 "The traffic was too much"라고 하기 쉽지만, 영어에서는 교통 상황을 표현할 때 heavy를 사용합니다. 또한 '늦게 왔다'는 "came late"보다 "arrived late"가 면접 상황에 훨씬 자연스럽고 격식 있는 표현입니다. 면접에서는 "I apologize for arriving late due to heavy traffic."처럼 말하면 더욱 프로페셔널한 인상을 줄 수 있습니다.
