한국인이 자주 하는 실수를 알아봅시다.
한국어에서 '안정적인'이라는 형용사를 그대로 영어에 적용하려다 보면 명사 자리에 형용사를 넣는 실수가 생깁니다. 영어에서 동사 gives의 목적어 자리에는 명사가 와야 하므로 형용사 stable이 아닌 명사 stability를 사용해야 합니다. "I want a stable job"처럼 형용사로 쓸 수도 있지만, 문장 구조에 따라 품사를 정확히 구분하세요.
한국어 '제가 성장할 수 있는 직장'을 영어로 옮길 때 관계부사 선택에서 실수가 자주 발생합니다. job은 장소·환경의 의미를 포함하므로 관계대명사 that이 아니라 관계부사 where를 사용해야 자연스럽습니다. "a job where I can grow"처럼 where 뒤에 완전한 문장이 오는 구조를 기억하세요.
