What kind of people do you like or you don’t like to deal or work with?
The answer to this question can give light to what type of person or employee are you because the type of person that you like to deal with is one who is most likely to possess your qualities. You should also identify the type of person that you find difficult to work with.
The following is an example:
“Someone who does show responsibility during deadlines.
"The person who refuses to stay when asked to help to solve a problem."
"Fellow workers who work at a pace that just barely keeps them employed."
Korean Trap! / 한국인 실수 교정
Common mistakes Korean speakers make when describing coworker preferences.
선호하는 동료 유형을 설명할 때 한국인이 자주 하는 실수입니다.
"responsibility"는 명사이고, "responsible"이 형용사입니다. "be + 형용사"의 구조이므로 "is not responsible"이 맞습니다. 또한 "like to work" 대신 "like working"이 더 자연스럽습니다.
"같은 마인드"를 직역하면 어색합니다. 영어에서는 "like-minded" (뜻이 같은)이라는 형용사를 사용하거나 "think the same way"로 표현합니다.
Discussion
Share your thoughts with your teacher.
선생님과 의견을 나눠보세요.
- The reading says the type of person you like to work with likely possesses your own qualities. Do you agree with this? Why?
지문에 좋아하는 동료 유형이 자신의 자질과 비슷하다고 합니다. 동의하나요? 이유는? - How would you answer: "What kind of people do you find difficult to work with?" in an interview? How honest should you be?
"어떤 사람과 일하기 어려운가요?" 면접에서 어떻게 답하겠어요? 얼마나 솔직해야 할까요? - The example mentions "workers who work at a pace that just barely keeps them employed." What does this mean? Have you seen this in real life?
예시에서 "겨우 해고되지 않을 정도로만 일하는 동료"를 언급합니다. 이것은 무슨 뜻인가요? 실제로 본 적이 있나요? - In Korean work culture, is it common to openly discuss difficult coworkers? How is this different from Western culture?
한국 직장 문화에서 어려운 동료에 대해 공개적으로 이야기하는 것이 일반적인가요? 서양 문화와 어떻게 다른가요?
