Korean Trap
Korean speakers often make this mistake in presentation English.
Discussion
Discuss these questions with your teacher after reading.
- The passage mentions using "signals" to hold attention. Which type of signal (beginning, listing, linking, or sequencing) do you think is most important in business presentations? Why?
- How would you transition between sections when presenting quarterly sales results to your management team?
- The text says the aim is "to convey a message that is worth hearing." How do you decide what information is essential and what should be left out?
- In your workplace, do presenters typically use listing signals like "first, second, third"? What other ways can you structure the body of a presentation?
