Social problem - condition that at least some people in a community view as being undesirable

Common mistakes Korean speakers make.
한국인이 자주 하는 실수를 알아봅시다.

❌ "I think smoking should be prohibited in public because it gives damage to others."
✅ "I think smoking should be banned in public because it harms others."

한국어에서 '피해를 주다'를 직역하여 "give damage"라고 표현하는 경우가 많지만, 영어에서는 사람에게 해를 끼칠 때 "harm someone" 또는 "cause harm to someone"이라고 합니다. "Give damage"는 영어에서 자연스럽지 않은 표현이에요. 또한 "prohibited"보다 일상 대화에서는 "banned"가 더 자연스럽습니다.
