Volunteer - a person who performs a service willingly and without pay.
Time - a prescribed or allotted period, as of one's life
Energy - the ability to act, lead others, effect, etc., forcefully.
Organizations - A group of persons organized for a particular purpose; an association
Work - exertion or effort directed to produce or accomplish something; labor; toil.
Action speaks louder than words - means that what people actually do is more important than what they say ? people can promise things but the fail to deliver
All Heart - someone who is very kind and generous.
As you Sow, So shall you reap - this means that if you do bad things to people, bad things will happen to you or good things if you do good things.
Beggars can’t be choosers - this idiom means that people who are in great need must accept any help that is offered, even if it is not a complete solution to their problems.
Bend over backwards - if someone bends over backwards, they do everything they can to help someone.
Bleeding heart - a bleeding heart is a person who is excessively sympathetic towards other people.
Charity begins at home - this idiom means that family members are more important than anyone else, and should be the focus of a person’s efforts.
Come what may - if you’re prepared to do something come what may, it means that nothing will stop or distract you, no matter how hard or difficult it becomes.
From the bottom of your heart - If someone does something from the bottom of their heart, then they do it with genuine emotion and feeling.

Korean Trap! / 한국인 실수 교정

Common mistakes Korean speakers make when talking about volunteering.
봉사활동에 대해 이야기할 때 한국인이 자주 하는 실수입니다.

❌ I did volunteer work at an orphanage last summer.
✅ I volunteered at an orphanage last summer. / I did volunteer work at an orphanage last summer. (Both OK!)

사실 두 표현 모두 맞지만, 많은 한국인이 "I did volunteer"라고만 합니다. "volunteer"를 동사로 쓸 때는 "I volunteered at..."이 간결하고 자연스럽습니다.

❌ It was once in a lifetime experience.
✅ It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

"once-in-a-lifetime"은 하이픈으로 연결된 복합 형용사입니다. 명사 앞에서 형용사로 쓸 때는 하이픈이 필요하고, 부정관사 "a"도 빠뜨리지 마세요.
