한국어에서는 '~안에'와 '~안으로'를 구분 없이 쓰는 경우가 많지만, 영어에서는 이미 안에 있는 상태(in)와 밖에서 안으로 던지는 동작(into)을 구분합니다. 이 시에서는 전래동요 특유의 표현으로 "in the dam"을 쓰지만, 일상 영어에서는 동작을 나타낼 때 "throw into"가 올바른 표현입니다.
