Korean Trap! /

Common mistakes Korean speakers make.

❌ Q: "You don't like coffee?" → "Yes, I don't like coffee."
✅ Q: "You don't like coffee?" → "No, I don't like coffee."

Discussion

Discuss with your teacher.

  1. In Korean culture, directly saying "no" can feel rude. How do you politely refuse a request in English without sounding too harsh?
  2. Some expressions like "You bet" or "No way" are very informal. When would it be inappropriate to use them?
"You bet"이나 "No way" 같은 표현은 매우 비격식적인데요.
  3. Have you ever misunderstood someone's "yes" or "no" because of the way they said it? What happened?
