tongue twister A phrase that is difficult to say quickly because of similar sounds 잰말놀이, 발음하기 어려운 문장 "She sells seashells" is a famous English tongue twister.

shoeshine The act of polishing shoes to make them look clean and shiny 구두닦이 He got a shoeshine before his job interview to look his best.

toil To work very hard for a long time 힘들게 일하다, 수고하다 The farmers toiled in the fields from sunrise to sunset.

tailor A person who makes or alters clothing as a profession 재단사, 양복점 주인 I took my suit to the tailor to have it fitted properly.

tuck To fold or push fabric into a neat position (천을) 접어 넣다, 단을 잡다 The tailor tucked the extra fabric at the waist to make the dress fit.

❌ She sits and "shines" (발음: /ʃainj/) — 끝에 불필요한 소리 추가

✅ She sits and shines (발음: /ʃaɪnz/) — 's' 다음에 깔끔한 /z/ 소리로 끝내기

한국어에는 영어의 /z/ 발음이 없기 때문에, "shines"를 발음할 때 끝소리를 /ʃainj/처럼 발음하거나 /ʃainsɯ/처럼 모음을 추가하는 경우가 많습니다. Tongue twister를 연습할 때 단어 끝의 자음을 깔끔하게 끊어 발음하는 것이 중요합니다. "sits"의 /ts/와 "shines"의 /nz/ 끝소리를 정확히 구분해서 연습해 보세요.
