❌ "We need to tight the belt this quarter because of budget cuts."
✅ "We need to tighten our belts this quarter because of budget cuts."
한국어로 '허리띠를 졸라매다'라는 표현이 있어서 영어로도 직역하려는 경향이 있습니다. 영어에서는 반드시 동사 'tighten'을 사용하고, 소유격(our/their)과 복수형 'belts'를 함께 써야 합니다. 또한 'tight'는 형용사이므로 동사 자리에 쓸 수 없습니다.
