Twelve-year old Danny Leardi had an unusual weekend job. Every Saturday morning, he drove with his father to the dock. At Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn, New York. There Danny helped with his father’s boat, Skipjack III.
Skyjack III was a fishing boat. Each day that the weather was good, it took people to fishing on the Atlantic Ocean. On the weekends and days when there was no school, Danny went along. He did everything from selling tickets to baiting hooks to cleaning fish. “It’s great,” Danny said. “I get to meet all kinds of people. And if I miss being able to do things with my friends, I just invite them to come along”.
