UNIT 17
In 1977, Sophia Collier set out to make a new kind of soft drink. Like many other people, she was upset that soft drinks often had in them things that were not healthful. Still, she enjoyed the taste of a soda now and then. That was why she decided to make a soft drink that was healthful.
Collier tried long and hard. She labored for hours in the kitchen of her Brooklyn, New York, apartment. Finally, she found a way to make soda that was healthful but still tasted good. Today, Collier’s company makes millions of dollars each year selling healthful soft drinks.
