✅ I need to attend to my work first.

한국어에서는 '일을 처리하다'라고 할 때 전치사 없이 바로 목적어를 붙이지만, 영어에서 'attend'는 '참석하다'라는 뜻이고 'attend to'가 되어야 '처리하다, 돌보다'라는 뜻이 됩니다. 이처럼 multi-word verb에서 전치사를 빠뜨리면 의미가 완전히 달라지므로, 동사와 전치사를 하나의 덩어리로 함께 외우는 것이 중요합니다.
