한국인이 자주 하는 실수를 알아봅시다.
❌ I was fired out from the company last month.
✅ I was laid off from the company last month.
한국어에서 '해고되다'와 '정리해고되다'를 구분 없이 사용하는 경우가 많습니다. 영어에서는 fired는 본인의 잘못이나 성과 부진으로 해고당하는 것이고, laid off는 회사 구조조정 등 본인 잘못 없이 해고되는 것입니다. 또한 "fired out"이라는 표현은 없으며, 전치사 없이 fired 또는 fired from이라고 합니다.
