Common mistakes Korean speakers make.
한국인이 자주 하는 실수를 알아봅시다.
한국어로 "들르다"를 영어로 옮길 때 전치사를 빠뜨리는 경우가 많습니다. "Drop"만 단독으로 쓰면 "떨어뜨리다"라는 뜻이 되어 의미가 완전히 달라집니다. 반드시 "drop by" (잠깐 들르다) 또는 "drop off" (맡기다, 내려주다)처럼 전치사와 함께 사용해야 합니다.
"Drop behind"는 "~에 뒤처지다"라는 뜻으로, 한국어의 "~로부터"에 이끌려 "from"을 넣는 실수를 자주 합니다. 영어에서는 전치사 없이 바로 목적어가 오거나, "fall behind"를 쓸 수도 있습니다.
