workforce

severance pay
Money paid to an employee when they are dismissed from a job, usually as part of a termination agreement. 퇴직금, 해고 수당

retention rate
The percentage of employees who remain with a company over a given period. 직원 유지율
Offering flexible work hours helped the company improve its employee retention rate significantly.

✅ I was laid off from my last company.
한국어로 '해고되다'를 영어로 옮길 때 "fired out"이라고 하는 경우가 많은데, 이는 잘못된 표현입니다. 회사 사정으로 인한 해고는 "laid off", 개인 잘못으로 인한 해고는 "fired"라고 합니다. "fired out"이라는 표현은 영어에 존재하지 않으니 주의하세요.
