I. Subject Matter: TOEIC Speaking Part 2 : Describe a picture
II. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the student will be able to:
Create coherent description of the photo given (page 29)Create appropriate sentences in describing each part by following the steps
III. Procedure:
a. Ask the student to describe the picture on page 29 and then compare the students answer with the model answers.
b. Correct the students answer by basing it from the model answer and steps given.
Model Answer:
Step 1: This is a picture of a woman holding a piece of fruit in her hand. The fruit might be an avocado.
Step 2: The woman is wearing a blue shirt and there is a scarf around her neck.
Step 3: On the left, there are some boxes of fruits and vegetables.
Step 4: I would assume she is shopping. Maybe, she will buy the piece of fruit.

한국인이 자주 하는 실수를 알아봅시다.
한국어 '잡다'를 영어로 옮길 때 grab을 쓰는 경우가 많습니다. 하지만 grab은 '급하게 움켜쥐다'라는 뉘앙스이고, 사진 묘사에서 누군가 물건을 들고 있는 상태를 표현할 때는 hold를 사용하는 것이 자연스럽습니다. 또한 과일을 셀 때 'a fruit'보다 'a piece of fruit'가 더 자연스러운 표현입니다.
