a. The teacher will ask the student to read the passage on page 51.
b. The teacher will take note of all the lapses in terms of pronunciation, intonation and stress and pausing.
c. Correct the student and ask the student to read the passage again and this time the teacher will time the student.
Passage:Attention, shoppers! / Today, we are having a special demonstration in aisle eight. / There, you can meet world famous makeup artist Zachary Jones. / If you purchase$50worthofcosmetics / or if you buy a 2.5 ounce bottle of Zach perfume, / you can get a free makeup consultation. / I also want to bring your attention to the toiletries department / as we are running a sale on shampoos and conditioners. / Buy two bottles of Rice Bright shampoo / and you can get the third one free. / Thank you for shopping at Leopold’s.

한국어에는 영어의 'shən(션)' 발음이 드물어서 '-tion'을 '티온'처럼 읽는 경우가 많습니다. TOEIC Speaking Part 1에서는 -tion, -sion 같은 접미사를 자연스럽게 '션(/ʃən/)'으로 발음해야 높은 점수를 받을 수 있습니다. information, presentation, promotion 등을 읽을 때 특히 주의하세요.
