I. Subject Matter: TOEIC Speaking Part 4 : Respond to questions using the information provided
II. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the student will be able to:
Learn how to understand natural English questions that is about inquiring about some informationCreate sentences using the information in the chartPractice answering questions simple inquiries about the chart Practice answering confirmation type of questions (q8)
III. Procedure:
a. The student will read the all the information in the chart (page 8)
b. The student would need to create sentences using the information provided in the chart.
c. To test the comprehension of the student, the teacher will ask random questions about the chart. The student should take note of the keyword in the questions.
d. The teacher would ask random questions about the chart (page 8-10). Most probably the teacher will use the phrase “is it true” when asking random questions. This is to practice the student in answering asking for confirmation type of questions.
e. The teacher asks the student several questions and the student will have to answer in one statement.

Common mistakes Korean speakers make when responding to questions using provided information.
정보를 활용하여 질문에 답할 때 한국인이 자주 하는 실수를 알아봅시다.
차트나 일정표에 나와 있는 확정된 정보를 전달할 때는 현재진행형(is starting)이 아니라 현재시제(starts) 또는 "is scheduled to"를 사용합니다. 한국어에서는 "시작해요"로 둘 다 표현 가능하지만, 영어에서는 공식 일정이나 표에 기재된 사실을 전달할 때 단순 현재시제가 자연스럽습니다.
한국인 학습자들은 차트 정보를 나열할 때 "And"로 문장을 반복 연결하는 경향이 있습니다. TOEIC Speaking에서는 정보를 하나의 자연스러운 문장으로 결합해야 높은 점수를 받을 수 있습니다. 장소와 날짜처럼 관련 정보는 한 문장으로 묶어서 말하는 연습을 하세요.
확인 질문(Is it true~?)에 대해 "No"만 짧게 답하는 것은 한국어 습관입니다. TOEIC Speaking Part 4에서는 틀린 정보를 정정할 때 올바른 정보를 함께 제공하고, 차트를 근거로 제시해야 합니다. "According to the schedule/chart"를 활용하여 근거를 명확히 밝히세요.
