a. The teacher will ask the student to read the passage on page 39.
b. The teacher will take note of all the lapses in terms of pronunciation, intonation and stress and pausing.
c. Correct the student and ask the student to read the passage again and this time the teacher will time the student.

지문을 소리 내어 읽을 때 한국인이 자주 하는 실수를 알아봅시다.
한국어에는 영어와 같은 강세 패턴이 없기 때문에, 읽기 시 모든 음절을 똑같이 발음하는 경향이 있습니다. TOEIC Speaking Part 1에서는 강세(stress)와 리듬이 매우 중요합니다. 예를 들어 'hotel'은 두 번째 음절 '-tel'에 강세가 오고, 'July'는 '-ly'에 강세가 옵니다. 읽기 전에 핵심 단어의 강세 위치를 빠르게 파악하는 연습을 하세요.
