a. The teacher will ask the student to read the passage on page 15.
b. The teacher will fill in the table below and ask the student to recite words in the table.

The three men said they were looking for rare tropical fish for a local aquarium when a storm blew through overturning their boat. The Captain of the boat said that though he has a Cuban passport, he currently lives in Miami. Immigration is supposedly looking into the matter. Our last story is about a concert to benefit local charities. A live concert will be held at the outdoor amphitheater in the community where the late orchestra conductor used to live.

*Main content words are nouns, noun phrases,main verbs, times and dates,adjectives,adverbs, and even negatives.
*Function words are articles, prepositions, conjunctions and auxiliaries [Statements using the auxiliary verbs ( is, are, can, have, will) are usually unstressed. This means that the vowel sound becomes shorter and consonants may change or be dropped.

한국어는 각 음절을 비슷한 세기로 발음하지만, 영어는 강세 박자 언어(stress-timed language)입니다. TOEIC Speaking Part 1에서 모든 단어를 똑같은 세기로 읽으면 로봇처럼 들려 감점 요인이 됩니다. 명사, 동사, 형용사 등 내용어(content words)는 강하게, 전치사·관사·접속사 등 기능어(function words)는 약하고 빠르게 읽는 연습을 하세요.
