Common mistakes Korean speakers make when responding to questions using provided information.
정보를 활용하여 질문에 답할 때 한국인이 자주 하는 실수를 알아봅시다.

❌ "The conference is start at 9 a.m. and finish at 5 p.m."
✅ "The conference starts at 9 a.m. and finishes at 5 p.m."

한국어에서는 시제나 주어에 따라 동사 형태가 변하지 않기 때문에, 정보를 읽고 답할 때 3인칭 단수 현재형 동사변화(-s)를 빠뜨리는 실수를 자주 합니다. TOEIC Speaking Part 4에서는 일정표나 안내문의 정보를 정확히 전달해야 하므로, 주어가 단수일 때 반드시 "starts, finishes, begins, costs"처럼 -s를 붙여야 합니다.

❌ "Registration fee is 50 dollar."
✅ "The registration fee is 50 dollars."

한국어에는 관사(the, a)가 없고 명사의 복수형 구분이 영어만큼 엄격하지 않아서, 제공된 정보를 답변으로 전환할 때 관사와 복수형을 누락하기 쉽습니다. 특정 정보를 가리킬 때는 "the"를 붙이고, 숫자가 2 이상이면 반드시 복수형을 사용하세요.

❌ "According the schedule, lunch break is from 12 to 1."
✅ "According to the schedule, the lunch break is from 12 to 1."

"According to"는 하나의 전치사구인데, 한국어 "~에 따르면"의 영향으로 "to"를 빠뜨리는 경우가 많습니다. Part 4에서 제공된 자료를 인용할 때 "According to the schedule / brochure / information"처럼 반드시 "to"를 포함해야 자연스럽고 정확한 답변이 됩니다.
