At the end of the lesson, the student will be able to:

III. Procedure:
a. The student will read the all the information in the chart (page 20-22)
b. To test the comprehension of the student, the teacher will ask random questions about the chart. The student should take note of the keyword in the questions.
c. The teacher would ask random questions about the chart (page 20-22). Most probably the teacher will use the phrase “is it true” when asking random questions. This is to practice the student in answering asking for confirmation type of questions.
d. The student will be timed in answering the questions 7 and 8 (pages 20-22)
Question 7: What benefits do you get with an Individual membership?
Question 8: I am a student. Are there any discounts for someone like me?
e. The teacher asks the student several questions and the student will have to answer in one statement.
Question 9: I am curious. What is the difference between being a Patron and an Individual membership?
f. The teacher will then discuss the model answers and compare it to the students answer.

✅ "The conference starts at 9 a.m. and finishes at 5 p.m."

한국어에서는 '시작하다', '끝나다'처럼 동사 원형을 그대로 사용하는 경향이 있어, 영어에서도 "is start", "is finish"처럼 be동사와 원형을 함께 쓰는 실수를 합니다. 제공된 일정표나 안내문의 정보를 전달할 때는 단순 현재 시제(starts, finishes)를 사용해야 합니다. TOEIC Speaking Part 4에서는 정보를 정확하고 자연스럽게 전달하는 것이 핵심이므로, 시제 오류는 감점 요인이 됩니다.

❌ "The registration fee is 50 dollars and it is include lunch."
✅ "The registration fee is 50 dollars, and it includes lunch."

표에 제시된 정보를 읽고 답할 때, 한국인 학습자는 주어가 3인칭 단수(it)일 때 동사에 -s를 붙이지 않는 실수를 자주 합니다. 제공된 정보를 문장으로 바꿀 때 주어-동사 수일치를 반드시 확인하세요. 특히 "it include" 대신 "it includes"로 말해야 자연스럽고 정확한 응답이 됩니다.
