The basics of good business letter writing are easy to learn.
The following guide provides the phrases that are usually found in any standard
business letter.

Dear Personnel Director,
Dear Sir or Madam (use if you don't know who you are writing to)
Dear Mr., Mrs., Miss or Ms (use if you know who you are writing to,
and have a formal relationship with - VERY IMPORTANT use Ms for women
unless asked to use Mrs. or Miss)
Dear Frank (use if the person is a close business contact or friend)

한국어에서는 "스미스 제임스 님"처럼 풀네임을 쓰는 것이 자연스럽지만, 영어 비즈니스 레터에서 Dear 다음에는 Mr./Ms. + 성(last name)만 씁니다. "Dear Mr. James Smith"는 격식 있는 서신에서 어색하게 느껴지므로, 반드시 "Dear Mr. Smith"로 쓰세요.
