Korean Trap! /

Common mistakes Korean speakers make.

❌ I am applying to the position of Area Sales Manager.
✅ I am applying for the position of Area Sales Manager.

한국어로는 "~에 지원하다"라고 해서 'apply to'를 쓰기 쉽지만, 직위나 자리에 지원할 때는 반드시 'apply for the position'을 사용해야 합니다. 커버레터에서는 "Please accept this letter as an expression of interest in the position of..."

❌ I have a confidence that I possess the right combination of skills.
✅ I am confident that I possess the right combination of skills.

하지만 영어에서는 'confidence'를 셀 수 없는 명사로 사용하므로 관사 'a'를 붙이지 않으며, 커버레터에서는 'I am confident that...'

❌ I look forward to hear your reply.
✅ I look forward to hearing your reply.

커버레터 마무리에 'I look forward to hearing from you'라고 정확하게 쓰는 것이 중요합니다.
