한국어에서는 "회의 일정을 논의하려고 전화했습니다"를 직역하다 보면 'called for discuss'처럼 전치사와 동사 원형을 함께 쓰는 실수를 합니다. 영어에서는 통화 목적을 밝힐 때 'I'm calling to + 동사원형' 패턴을 사용해야 합니다. 또한 현재진행형 'I'm calling'이 비즈니스 전화에서 더 자연스럽고 정중한 표현입니다.
