Korean Trap

Korean speakers often make this mistake when telephoning in English.

❌ "Hello, I am Kim from ABC Company. Is Mr. Smith there?"
✅ "Hello, this is Mr. Kim from ABC Company. Could I speak to Mr. Smith, please?"

전화에서 자신을 밝힐 때 'I am'이 아니라 'This is'를 사용합니다. 또한 'Is Mr. Smith there?'는 너무 직접적이므로 'Could I speak to Mr. Smith, please?'가 비즈니스에 적합합니다. 전화 영어의 가장 기본적인 규칙입니다.
