한국인이 자주 하는 실수를 알아봅시다.
❌ "As you can see the chart, sales increased by 20%."
✅ "As you can see from the chart, sales increased by 20%."
한국어에서는 '차트를 보시면'이라고 하기 때문에 영어에서도 "see the chart"라고 직역하는 경우가 많습니다. 하지만 영어에서는 차트로부터 정보를 읽어낸다는 의미로 "see from the chart"라고 전치사 from을 반드시 써야 합니다. 마찬가지로 "As shown in the chart"도 올바른 표현입니다.
