한국인이 자주 하는 실수를 알아봅시다.
❌ "I can't listen you well. The line is bad."
✅ "I can't hear you well. We have a bad connection."
한국어에서는 '듣다'를 넓은 의미로 사용하지만, 영어에서는 상대방의 목소리가 물리적으로 잘 안 들릴 때 'listen'이 아닌 'hear'를 씁니다. 'listen'은 의식적으로 집중해서 듣는 행위를 뜻하고, 'hear'는 소리가 귀에 들리는 것을 뜻합니다. 또한 전화 연결 상태가 나쁠 때는 "The line is bad"보다 "We have a bad connection"이 더 자연스러운 표현입니다.
