Common mistakes Korean speakers make.

한국어에서는 기차를 '타다'라고 표현하기 때문에 영어에서도 'ride'를 쓰는 실수를 자주 합니다. 하지만 기차가 출발하는 것을 말할 때는 'leave', 'depart'를 사용해야 합니다. 'ride'는 사람이 탑승하는 행위를 뜻하고, 기차 자체의 출발에는 쓰지 않습니다.

❌ "Can you call to me if the train is coming?"
✅ "Can you give me a ring if the train is coming?"

한국어 '나에게 전화해줘'를 직역해서 'call to me'라고 하면 틀립니다. 영어에서는 'call me', 'give me a call', 또는 이 대화에 나온 것처럼 'give me a ring'이라고 합니다. 전치사 'to'를 넣지 않는 것이 올바른 표현입니다.
