I want to suggest to the bride that we should put the wedding off for a while.
suggest that S (should) V suggest는 '제안하다', '권하다'의 뜻으로 that 절 뒤에 제안하는 내용을 담아 주어 + (Should) + 동사 의 형태로 쓴다. 이때 should가 생략될 때에도 주어에 상관없이 동사는 항상 동사원형의 형태로 쓴다는 점을 유의해야 한다.

Is friendship possible with the OPPOSITE SEX? The answer to the question
for me is, "yes, I hope so“. Many times in my case, I have seen that it is
not so easy to be friends with the opposite sex. When we get close enough
so that we could call each other "buddies", boys are already thinking about
confessing their love. Why does this happen? In my interpretation, it is
because boys have a different perspective than girls do.

한국어에서 '~에게 ~하라고 제안하다'를 직역하면 'suggest + 사람 + to 부정사' 형태를 쓰기 쉽지만, 영어에서 suggest는 to 부정사를 목적격 보어로 취하지 않습니다. 반드시 'suggest that + 주어 + (should) + 동사원형' 구조를 사용해야 합니다. 예를 들어 "I suggest that he keep his friendship with her"처럼 주어가 3인칭이라도 동사원형(keep)을 쓴다는 점도 꼭 기억하세요.
