According to a report published by the Center for Korean Education
Development, 16,446 elementary to high school students left the country in
2004 to attend school abroad. This is a significant increase from the number
of students that left during the previous year, which was 10,498. This report
also showed a significant increase throughout the years. In 1998, the
number of students that left the country to attend school abroad was 1562.

한국인이 자주 하는 실수를 알아봅시다.
한국어에서는 '해외로'라고 할 때 '~로'라는 조사를 붙이기 때문에, 영어에서도 'to abroad'라고 말하는 경우가 많습니다. 하지만 'abroad'는 부사이므로 앞에 전치사 'to'를 붙이지 않습니다. 'go abroad', 'live abroad', 'study abroad'처럼 동사 뒤에 바로 사용하세요.
